Augustana College’s Bachelor of Science degree program in Engineering has been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, a nonprofit, ISO 9001-certified quality assurance organization. This reflects the continued growth of the engineering program within the college’s liberal arts and sciences tradition.
For Tara Armas ’27 and Emma Biskie ’27, studying physics at Augustana College has meant much more than mastering equations and theories. It has led to research opportunities in places far and near, connections with scientists and, along the way, a close friendship. Plus — a prestigious $5,000 scholarship!
On August 31, 765 new students from 28 states and 36 countries began their Augustana College journey. The incoming class includes 678 first-year students, 82 transfer students, and a total of five non-degree and exchange students, with 25 languages represented.

When the Rock Island Public Library needed historical background for a master plan and future capital campaign for its downtown library, Augustana’s History 300 students answered the call. Their research uncovered important stories about the 1903 library, while revealing the challenges and rewards of piecing together a library’s history.
Stoop Talk: Quad Cities is an interactive photo exhibition and community-centered zine workshop by Larissa C. Frimpong, with an opening reception Friday, Sept. 11, 4-6 p.m. This event is open to the community.
